Project Background
The Jokhang Temple is one of the must-visit scenic spots for tourists coming to Lhasa. Since Tibet entered the peak tourist season, the number of tourists visiting the Jokhang Temple has been increasing day by day. There is relatively great pressure in aspects such as cultural relic protection, security, and fire prevention. In order to better meet the needs of tourists and religious believers for sightseeing and pilgrimage, and at the same time better protect the cultural relics and buildings inside the Jokhang Temple, the tickets for the Jokhang Temple are sold through an online reservation system. Real-name reservation is required, and visitors can enter after being authenticated by the face recognition ticket gate system.
The Jokhang Temple, also known as "Zholkang" and "Chokhang" (in Tibetan, it means the hall of Buddha), is located in the center of the old urban area of Lhasa. It is a Tibetan Buddhist temple built by Songtsen Gampo, the Tibetan king. The reason why Lhasa is renowned as a "holy land" is related to this Buddha statue. Initially, the temple was called "Rasa", and later "Rasa" became the name of this city and evolved into the present "Lhasa". After the Jokhang Temple was completed, it underwent repeated modifications, renovations and expansions during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, thus forming its current scale.
The Jokhang Temple has a history of more than 1,300 years and holds a supreme position in Tibetan Buddhism. The Jokhang Temple is the most magnificent building remaining from the Tubo period in Tibet. It is also the earliest building with a civil engineering structure in Tibet, and it pioneered the urban layout pattern of Tibetan-style temples on flat land. The temple hall of the Jokhang Temple has four floors. The golden roofs and the bracket sets of the entire building are of typical Han ethnic style. In Lhasa, Tibetans also like to refer to the Barkhor Street area centered around the Jokhang Temple as "Lhasa", which means the land of Buddha in Tibetan.
Traditional manual ticket checking is inefficient and requires a large amount of work. It is likely to cause queuing congestion. Moreover, during peak tourist flows, it is too busy, and errors such as incorrect checking and missed checking are prone to occur. Therefore, many tourist scenic areas use face recognition ticket checking machines and ticket checking terminals for comparing ID cards with the faces of visitors. By swiping ID cards or using face recognition, the ticket checking process can be automatically completed, realizing paperless ticket checking. It can also prevent situations such as the loss of tickets and the illegal use of tickets, making ticket checking in scenic areas safer and more efficient.
Ironman Intelligence has been deeply engaged in the pedestrian access gate industry for more than 10 years. With its strong capabilities, it has successively provided supporting solutions for face recognition ticket-checking turnstiles for projects such as Zhangjiajie Scenic Area in Hunan Province, Window of the World in Shenzhen, Hongya Cave in Chongqing, and Xiangxiong Meiduo Scenic Area in Tibet. The implementation of the Jokhang Temple's face recognition ticket tripod turnstile project will further improve and optimize the experience of tourists entering the Jokhang Temple.
In the future, Ironman Intelligence will continuously improve the ticket-checking solutions for scenic areas, give full play to its comprehensive supporting advantages in sectors such as scenic areas, venues, amusement parks, etc. It will continue to provide high-quality pedestrian access gate solutions for major scenic areas, commercial complexes, and industrial parks, and contribute professional strength to the development and construction of scenic areas across the country and even the cities.
